Northland Center Shopping Mall was the first and world's largest shopping center. The open air concept encompassed over 100 stores (2 million square feet) with extensive gardens and pedestrian spaces. The mall was designed by world renowned architect Victor Gruen in 1954. Our firm also designed the landscapes for Eastland, Westland and Southland following the great success of Northland.
